The Real Deal, Mitch Polzak!

He's baaaaaack in the North Bay, (in 'Peacetown', West County)!
Mitch Polzak is the 'real deal' was the phrase I was hearing a lot on this beautiful evening in Ives Park in Sebastopol. Mitch Polzak and the Royal Deuces were headlining and The Bluebirds opened. The Bluebirds was a cool band playing 'easy listening 60s rock.' Their setlist included a variety of well chosen songs from Bob Dylan, The Byrds, Bread etc.. Good band, nice sound, solid musical chops, and the drummer was a stick twirler.
After the Bluebirds, Mitch Polzak and the Royal Deuces were on. The Royal Deuces is a big sound rocking trio consisting of bass player, Bill MacBeath, drummer Timothy Orr and Mitch Polzak on guitar. This trio has a huge sound! They play a variety of genres and songs, from Merle Haggard, Jerry lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Mitch's own original music. The Mitch Polzak sound is a cool combination of Rockabilly, Elvis Presley, Honky Tonk, Surf and Rock. Apart from his "real deal" sound, Mitch is such a lovely guy.
He stands 6'5" tall and is open, friendly, personable, and charming. And he doesn't scrimp on flashing his electric smile to all.

When Mitch plays it's a rockin good time. All one has to do is look around and see all the smiles and joy in the audience! As far as Mitch being the "real deal"....this is very true and you can hear it in every note! The music sounds authentic, from the heart and Mitch and the band genuinely seem like they're having a great time playing. Mitch introduces songs with sweet stories about his songwriting, his family and his life. In 2024, he was inducted into The Western Swing Hall Of Fame and has been twice nominated for The Ameripolitan Music Awards. So yes, "The Real Deal" turned out to be the phrase of the day and it is so true! Check out Mitch Polzak and the Royal Deuces next time they play at a venue near you!
