Hello music lovers! We are now in a new year. I'm hoping 2024 will be an awesome one for us all. Politics may be getting more divisive and fiery with an election happening this year, but the music business is feeling joyful and plentiful in the coming months.
Bottlerock Napa has a pretty cool lineup this May with headliners, Pearl Jam, Ed Sheeran and Stevie Nicks. A couple of my personal faves! I try to see Pearl Jam every time they tour (they're one of my favorite bands), and the last time I saw them was in 2022 when drummer Matt Cameron had covid. And if you read my blog from that tour, Pearl Jam didn't sound like Pearl Jam without him!
The biggest music industry event of the year, NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) in Anaheim is getting ready to open its doors soon. Showcasing new gear, wonderful musicians and adventures to be had. Every year The Music Soup attends this magical musical event as it always provides new connections, and photos of the happenings and events for us to share with you. NAMM introduces all the new gear for the likes of Stevie Wonder and many others to try out, new sessions for music education, marketing, social media tips and several days and nights of live music everywhere the eyes can see. And the annual drum circle is something some of us look forward to annually! Each year I get to hang with my NAMM friends that come in from Australia, England and all over the globe. Due to Covid, many of the regular attendees I haven't seen for a few years as they haven't attended, but this year they're coming back. And I have a feeling, NAMM will be in full force this year.
As always, remember..."Life is short...break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, meditate often, be kind to each other, and never regret anything that made you smile". And of course...see live music!
With peace, love, art and music,
