Italian rockers, Giuda, from Day 2 of the Mosswood Meltdown.

A rock band from Rome was my fave of the day at this annual punk festival in Oakland. I first saw this band at the same festival in 2017 and they grabbed my heart then, and Mosswood Meltdown provided a sweet return in 2025 for this great band!

The Giuda sound can be described as a 70s throwback heavy hitting rock n roll punk (ish) band. They are a five-piece band from Rome, Italy. Playing ‘70s rock hooks delivered with the brutal force of early UK old school punk. They were formed in 2007 and they became an underground sensation. The music magazine Mojo praised Giuda as well as a handful of other music publications. They've completed several European tours and this was their second time playing at Mosswood Park. I've also seen them play at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco. Great music, with some great players and Tenda, the lead vocalist gives it everything he's got, creating a ton of energy. If you get a chance to see Giuda - do it!

There were many other bands on, on this second day of the festival. I stayed a while. Watched a very strange comedy sketch on the stage and then later, Shannon and the Clams, and then Bratmobile played to finish the 2025 Mosswood Meltdown. I did not stay for the rest of the bands. I mainly attended the festival on Sunday to see Giuda. And that I did!
