As we are approaching summer of 2022, live music is back despite the fact that covid is still very much alive. But most of us are vaccinated, so its not the threat of death much less. Mask wearing is slowly increasing a little, and remains a personal choice. People are becoming infected everywhere, almost moreso than when it first began. Most of the tours that were postponed, or canceled are being re-scheduled and announced.
The month of May has been quite a month for music. On May 6th I experienced the best concert of my lifetime. (Which is one hefty sentence when you are me!) It took me a while to come to this conclusion, but I am fully behind this ranking now. Then on March was 12th Pearl Jam, I wait year round for this band to play. I look forward to Eddie and Matt and the guys. This year Matt had covid so they didnt have their star drummer and its very apparent that Matt holds PJs music together in his command of the kit. May 17th was Blondie and The Damned at The Masonic. All three were fantastic!
And the music festivals around the country are all resuming....BottleRock happened, as are all the annual music festivals. And NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants), happening June 3-5 instead of the regular January schedule. The Music Soup team is going to NAMM, (and we will be masked), and grateful to attend.
If you are a live music lover, I suggest checking the music calendars out to see who is back out playing, and coming on tour to your area.

Remember..."Life is short...break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile".
With peace, love and music,
